Non-incisional double eyelid surgery was originated from the idea of creating the fold by burying permanent sutures. It is a popular aesthetic procedure due to a quick recovery period and a natural result. Some doctors are reluctant to perform this method due to complications such as loosening of the double fold, but various versions have been developed to reduce such complications.
The single-knot continuous non-incisional technique is the most common technique for non-incisional double eyelid surgery. Since this is a very simple procedure and its swelling go down fast, it has become the standard technique for the non-incisional double eyelid surgery.
It is the oldest knot non-incisional technique and it requires a relatively long surgery period since it requires to create three knots. The possibility of loosening of the fold is average and it is relatively difficult to retain the original eye shape since all three knots must be found and untied.
Single stitch technique is the most basic technique for non-incisional double eyelid surgery and it is a modified multi-knot technique, reducing the number of knots. Since it reduces the number of knots, it has higher possibility of loosening of the crease but has a lower degree of swelling than the multi-knot technique. It is highly recommendable for people willing to have very thin double eyelids.
